PARDON OUR DUST! PAGE IS CURRENTLY RECEIVING UPDATES!

Introduction

Congratulations! You have received your new Tekdapters!

Before using, please read through the following online instructions. It is highly recommended to check the fitment with the skis and boots that will be used prior to the day of use.

To begin setup, you will need your Tekdapters, boots with tech inserts molded into the toe lug of the boot, and your skis.

See the video below for a clear follow along of how to setup your Tekdapters from start to finish.

Step 1: Unboxing

Locate and open the bag containing the TekLock™ parts. You can also unfold the shipping box to find printed instructions.

Step 2: Teklock™ Installation

Ensure the Plastic Washer is positioned under the TekLock Lever.

Install one TekLock Assembly into each TEKDAPTER as shown.

Ensure the Plastic Washer is positioned under the TekLock Lever.

It is preferable to locate the levers facing to the outside as opposed to facing each other.

Step 3: SoleSync™ Shim Position

The 2-4 mm Shim on the bottom of the TEKDAPTER can be adjusted to account for different sole standards, wear-and-tear of your boot soles, and slight variations between manufacturers.

As a general rule of thumb, boots with ISO 5355 Alpine soles should begin with the shim aligned with the rear most edge of the Teklock Jaw Plate to begin adjustment.

Boots with ISO 23223 Gripwalk Soles should use the forward most position.

Boots that are non compliant with either of those standards, such as Walk-to-Ride or full rockered ISO 9523 soled touring boots, you will likely need to purchase the FULL ROCKERED TOURING SOLE ISO 9523 SHIM SET.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have a question regarding compatibility. We are happy to help!

Step 4: Identify BSL

Obtain Boot Sole Length (BSL) in millimeters.
The BSL can be found on the inner heel of most boots. If the boot sole length is unavailable, use the provided scale to measure the BSL in millimeters."

Step 5: Length Adjustment

Open the SoleSync™ Adjustment Lever and set the TEKDAPTERS™ to length using the letter code. Close the SoleSync™ Adjustment Lever.

Alternatively, it is completely acceptable to set the length of them directly into your binding as shown in the above video. Bindings move backward slightly as your boot is stepped in. This is referred to as "forward pressure". The Tekdapter should fit into the binding in the same manner as your boot, moving the heel of the binding rearward approximately the same distance as the boot.

Step 6: SoleSync Adjustment

Adjust the SoleSync™ clamping pressure with the Thumb Wheel located on the bottom of the TEKDAPTER™ to achieve a secure hold.

Step 7: Install Tekdapter into Bindings

Install the TEKDAPTER™ into the binding.

  • Keep hands clear of interfacing parts to avoid potential injury.
  • Push down on the rear of the TEKDAPTER™ while lifting the binding’s heel.

Step 8: Install the Boot

Set one TekLock™ Pin into the boot’s tech insert, and twist the boot to engage the other.

With the boot snapped between the pins, close the Teklock Lever.

Check for play at the pin interface between the boot and Tekdapter. Slowly  tighten the Teklock adjustment knob and recheck until any play in the system has been eliminated.

It should be noted that the plastic cupped washer in the Teklock assembly does have a short bed in period. The Teklock System can be ran through a few compression cycles during this setup process to aid this, but it will likely need minor adjustment during the first uses as everything becomes fully seated. This will quickly transition to a Set-and-forget adjustment.

Step 9: Fitment Inspection

Examine the interface between the 2-4 mm Shim and binding and look for a gap or visible play. Pull backwards on the boot to ensure any gap at the AFD shim is clearly visible.

  • If a gap is present, eject the TEKDAPTER™, push the 2-4 mm Shim forward one click and recheck.
  • If a large gap is detected beyond what the stock shim can accommodate, please reach out and we can assist further.
