The Easiest Solution to Start Touring

Daymakers easily convert any standard downhill ski setup into a powder chasing alpine touring rig in a matter of seconds. Simply attach climbing skins to your skis, clip the Daymakers onto your boots, step into your skis, and begin touring.

Ascend confidently with Daymakers stable and torsionally rigid design. Once you reach the goods, Daymakers can be stepped out of with a flick of your pole and the flat, low profile design stores unobtrusively in your backpack for the ski down.

4Bar Tech - Smooth walking WITHOUT a walk-mode boot.

The revolutionary 4 Bar Tech hinge creates the most natural stride in all of ski touring by replacing the single pivot point of other touring bindings with a linkage-driven virtual pivot that rotates directly under the balls of your feet. This unlocks the range of motion to tour comfortably and effectively in boots with or without walk modes.Since the rotation to walk comes from the linkage, you do not need tech fittings in your boots to tour with Daymakers!

On flat terrain like approaches, ridge lines, or even mellow descents, the -3° neutral stance of the Daymakers counters the forward lean built into boots and bindings for a comfortable, upright stance, even with non walk-mode boots. When the going gets steeper there are 7° and 12.5° elevators that can be quickly deployed with your hand or ski pole using the Easy Levers.

Great way to get into backcountry skiing

Chris at Daymaker is incredibly helpful in making sure the daymaker and skins work with our current set up. My 15 year old and 10 year old are able to join me back country skiing and the Daymakers can grow when my kids grow and size up in skies and boots. I was surprised that my 15 year old can switch from uphill mode to downhill mode just as fast as I can in my AT set up.

A great option for those who need it

Background: 39M, advanced skier, 30-60 days/season. I have deformed feet and require custom boots to address canting for severe pronation. As such, I do not have an option to use boots with tech toes which limits my options for touring to frame bindings or these DayMaker classics. I have both and compared to frame bindings, these are the superior option. The motion of movement is easier with the Daymakers due to the position of the toepiece portion relative to frame bindings which pivot superiorly to the binding itself. The downside of the Daymakers is that you are a bit higher above the binding and this added height takes a little getting used to. That being said, this allows you not to have to do any modification to your boots or skis. Yes, you have to throw these in your backpack on the way down - not a big deal for someone like myself who is not doing intense tours. In summary, if you are looking to get into touring, this is a great, affordable option to do so.

Great starter setup for ski touring

This is an unbelievably versatile set up for someone looking to test the waters ski touring. Extremely affordable and effective. Fits all my ski bindings and boots (AT and non-AT) so I can bounce between powder, hard pack and other conditions so I don't have to compromise performance over function.

I only wish I waited a little longer until the Tekdapters came out. They seem to be a much higher quality build and design. I am a little considered about the robustness of the classic adapters being most likely bent sheet metal, bar, and 3D printed parts.

Overall, awesome product

Awesome product! A must have even if you have Alpine Touring set up

Guys, you might already have boots with tech inserts. You might already have a Salomon Shift setup or other pin bindings. You still need a set of Giray's Daymakers.

Here's why (and sorry in advance for the long review)

1. Versatility in Touring Setups
Daymakers allow you to use multiple pairs of skis with traditional alpine bindings for touring, without needing to invest in multiple pairs of touring-specific bindings. (Just make sure the skins work the skis.) Importantly, you only need to set them up once and they will work with all of your skis that are already set up for your boots.

2. Downhill Performance
With Daymakers, you retain the full alpine binding performance on the downhill, which might be more stable or confidence-inspiring than touring bindings in some conditions. Plus, if you're particularly attached to the feel of your favorite alpine bindings and want to keep the same setup on the downhill without compromising, Daymakers provide a way to tour without sacrificing your preferred alpine binding/ski/boot setup. (I'm pretty sure very few people prefer the frame binding for either regular resort skiing and/or touring.)

3. Safety
Daymakers work with all alpine skiing boots and bindings. Use your regular resort boots that don't have the touring sole, and save your touring boots for when you REALLY need them. I'm not an expert, but don't regular alpine ski boots (both ISO 5355 and Gripwalk) release better than touring boots given that touring boots have rubber soles? My Gripwalks have a hard plastic insert where it meets the Anti-Friction Device. Rubber soles mean friction? Also, many touring boots won't work with regular bindings, and, importantly, pin bindings are considered less reliable than regular alpine bindings when skiing at the resort.

4. Rock solid build quality
These are super solid. I don't know their warranty experience, but these in combination with your regular burly alpine bindings will be heavier than a lightweight uphill-focused pin binding set up, but you can trust Daymakers not to fail going up. 100%

5. Most importantly
Giray and team are running a small business putting out a solid product. Support!
